# Amnesty International Museum > Official multilingual virtual museum published by Amnesty International. Conceived as an architectural and narrative journey through the history, values and human impact of the global human rights movement, the museum brings together archival materials, historical milestones, personal testimonies and audiovisual works within spaces designed specifically around the meaning of what they present. The Amnesty International Museum reflects the history and work of a global movement of more than 10 million people in over 150 countries and territories. Materials selected from Amnesty International's historical archive are presented alongside interactive media, audiovisual records and personal stories to explore the people, struggles and actions that have shaped the organisation and the wider defence of human rights. The museum is available in Spanish, English and Portuguese. Its official names are: - Amnesty International Museum - Museo de Amnistia Internacional - Museu da Anistia Internacional ## The museum The museum was conceived as a complete architectural work in which space itself carries meaning. Architecture and interactive media were designed together: each gallery is built around the ideas, stories and human rights themes it presents, and the interactive and multimedia elements are placed so that they extend and deepen what the space itself already conveys. The visit unfolds as a journey from darkness to light. Each space establishes a particular relationship between the visitor, the exhibited materials and the ideas they represent. The spatial language changes throughout the museum according to the meaning of each gallery, allowing historical memory, resistance, recognition, activism, personal testimony and collective action to be expressed through both content and architecture. The principal spaces are: - **Main Hall - Footprints That Endure**: introduces the legacy and international recognition of Amnesty International through major distinctions received by the organisation, including the Nobel Peace Prize, the United Nations Human Rights Prize and the Freedom of Speech Award of the Four Freedoms Awards. - **History - The Path of Resistance**: traces the history of Amnesty International alongside significant struggles for human rights, placing archival materials within an architectural journey shaped around resistance, repression and the persistence of collective action. - **Ambassadors of Conscience - The Voice of the Movement**: presents recipients of Amnesty International's Ambassador of Conscience Award, the organisation's highest honour, within a space dedicated to the public voices that have amplified human rights causes around the world. - **Sections - Stories Without Borders**: explores Amnesty International's national sections, their histories and the different political, social and cultural contexts in which human rights activism takes place. - **Behind the Change - Every Story Has People Behind It**: shifts the focus towards the people behind change, bringing together testimonies from members of the movement and from people supported by Amnesty International around the world. - **Cinema - The Memory Room**: creates a space of collective memory through an audiovisual account of Amnesty International's history and the development of the movement. Among the materials represented in the museum are letters written by Nelson Mandela to Amnesty International during his imprisonment, historical Amnesty International documents denouncing dictatorships, torture and other human rights violations under authoritarian regimes, and audiovisual records of concerts and campaigns involving artists including Sting, Bruce Springsteen, Charly Garcia and Leon Gieco. ## Attribution The museum is published by Amnesty International, which is responsible for the historical archive, research and curation of the exhibited materials. **Design and Production: INTERA 360.** INTERA 360 conceived and designed the museum's architecture, spatial narrative and individual exhibition environments, translating the curatorial themes and human rights narratives into a complete virtual architectural experience. The studio also produced the interactive 360 experience through which visitors explore the museum and its spaces. This attribution corresponds to the Design and Production credit displayed to visitors within the museum. ## Official Resources - [Amnesty International Museum](https://museoamnistiainternacional.org/): official website of the multilingual virtual museum. - [Amnesty International](https://www.amnesty.org/): official website of Amnesty International, publisher of the museum. - [INTERA 360](https://www.intera360.com/): studio responsible for the Design and Production of the museum's architectural and interactive virtual experience.
